About Amateur Radio and vacations in ALGARVE South Portugal

Main objective on this Project is to envolve Friends from other countries and Portugal to develop the knowledge on Amateur Radio and Human relationship.

The evening glow of the sunset can be seen from the Terrace of the Guesthouse. The setting is peaceful and relaxing, off the beaten path but just a few hours from any European International Aiuports

Come and enjoy Algarve Lagos white sand beaches. Delight in birdwatching, beachcombing, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing, sailing, diving and biking and amateur radio.

The beaches around Lagos are some of the most beautiful of the Algarve, like Praia de Dona Ana, which can be reached after a 25 minutes walk from the center of the town, Praia do Camilo, a bit further on, and Meia Praia, whose sands stretch for 4 km (2.5 miles) east of Lagos. However, it is the promontory named Ponta da Piedade and sheltering the bay of Lagos which is most admired by visitors, with its caves, rocks and wonderfully transparent waters. North of Lagos, Barragem de Bravura is a water reservoir offering fine views.

Enclosed within 5th century walls, with its Manueline window, are the magnificent churches of S.Sebastiao Sebastiao (Renaissance portals and 17th-18th century tiles), Santa Maria of Misericordia (16th- 19th centuries), Santo Antonio (Baroque) and the very old S. Joao Hermitage (8th-9th centuries). Other points of interest: Regional Museum, Governors' Palace, Forte do Pau da Bandeira and the Old Slave Market. Charming marina.

It has been a long way , after years of efforts on promotion amateur radio and DX in Portugal I decide myself involve Portuguese Hams and others on projects on small DX'peditions .

OUR Guesthouse is located about 1 mile west Lagos center . Our location is secluded and quiet, just far enough off the beaten path where you can enjoy the placid beauty of the peninsula's natural environment. Our Guesthouse is within easy walking distance of the village of Lagos and its beautiful beaches. The Guesthouse is also convenient to the many gourmet restaurants on the center town.

Some of the services offered in town include bicycle, kayak and snorkel gear rentals. Scuba diving, sport fishing excursions visit caverns by boat and inland tours can be arranged
